Well, using Magento 2 Multi Vendor SMTP extension allows the marketplace vendors to setup their own SMTP.
After configuring the SMTP settings their respective customers will be able to receive emails for order place, invoice and shipment generation as well as when the vendor creates a credit memo for their respective order.
