Transaction Charge Type – Here’s how the Transaction Charge Type feature works in the Webkul Multi-Vendor Marketplace app.

  1. Enabling Transaction Charges

    • Go to MVM Admin Panel >> Configuration >> Product Configuration.
    • Enable the “Transaction Charges” option.
  2. Who Pays the Transaction Charge

    • Under “Transaction Charges to be paid By”, choose whether the Admin or the Seller bears the transaction charge.
  3. Percentage or Fixed Amount

    • You can set the transaction charge as a percentage (e.g., 10%) or a fixed amount (e.g., $5).
  4. Charge Calculation: Seller-wise, Product-wise, or Order-wise

    • Seller-wise: The transaction charge is calculated for each seller separately in multi-seller orders.
    • Product-wise: The transaction charge applies to each product in the order.
    • Order-wise: The transaction charge applies once per entire order, regardless of how many products or sellers are involved.
  5. Impact of “Display Sales Price”

    • If “Display Sales Price” is ON:
      • The admin always bears the transaction charge, while the seller bears only the handling charge (if any).
    • If “Display Sales Price” is OFF:
      • You can configure whether the seller bears the transaction charge (e.g., product-wise or order-wise).

Example

  • Product A: $100

  • Commission: 10%

  • Transaction Charge: 10%

  • Case 1 (Admin Pays):

    • Admin earns $10 from commission but also covers the 10% transaction charge. The seller receives $90.
  • Case 2 (Seller Pays):

    • Admin earns $20 ($10 commission + $10 transaction charge). The seller’s share is $80.
